Located on the western outskirts of Tehran, at 10 km on the Karaj special road, the Shiyan Motel is a very economical option for short-term stops. This old-fashioned lodging with simple 1970s architecture offers 45 accommodation units, including small 12-meter rooms with metal beds and thin mattresses, which are more suitable for a few hours of rest. The shared bathrooms, located at the end of each corridor, are cleaned once a day and, due to the traditional plumbing system, sometimes face water pressure problems.
The motel’s reception hall, which has been converted into a small café-restaurant, offers a limited menu of fast food such as Nimro, Koko and Bean Food at very reasonable prices. The biggest advantage of this motel is its spacious and secure parking lot, which can accommodate more than 100 cars and several buses, making it the first choice for many long-distance drivers. The Shiyan Motel’s location provides quick access to the West Passenger Terminal and the Karaj-Qazvin road.
The motel, which caters mainly to truck drivers and transients, offers limited services, including a 24-hour front desk, a small grocery store, and a wake-up service. The price per night is about a quarter of the cost of budget hotels in the city, making it an attractive option for travelers on a tight budget. Although the standard of comfort is very low, the relative safety of the area and easy access to major roads are significant advantages for short stops.
